Dr. Scott Miyake Geron to Present at BUSSW Social Welfare Colloquium on November 8

Faculty and doctoral students from the greater scholarly community at Boston University and beyond are invited to join BUSSW faculty and doctoral students for the Social Welfare Analysis Colloquium on November 8, featuring Dr. Scott Miyake Geron who will present a paper entitled, “Addressing the Workforce Crisis in a Rapidly Aging Society: A Model of Sustainable Workforce Change”. The presentation is part of the Social Welfare Analysis Colloquium series held at the Boston University School of Social Work, 264 Bay State Road, Boston, on Thursdays, from 3 to 4:30 p.m., in the Conant Lounge.

Dr. Geron is Associate Professor of Social Welfare Policy and Research at the Boston University School of Social Work. He is Director and Principal Investigator of the Institute for Geriatric Social Work, a national center dedicated to strengthening the workforce for an aging society through educational innovation, workforce redesign, and research. Dr. Geron’s research interests include geriatric social work effectiveness, long-term care policy and financing, home care, program assessment and evaluation, care management and managed care for the elderly and other high-risk and medically complex populations, program evaluation, and quality assessment.
