OCP Hosts Community Partnership Appreciation Event
Honoring the partnerships they have forged with agencies, clinicians and graduates, Boston University School of Social Work’s Off-Campus Programs (OCP) hosted a Community Partnership Appreciation event on April 17 at Cape Cod Community College. Faculty advisor Gary Eager spoke on the ethical issues and challenges faced when working with children and families, and the Professional Education Programs (PEP) offered 1 free CEU for his lecture.
Says SEMA Director Deborah Sheehan, “As the oldest weekend program in Massachusetts, OCP has a long history with many agencies and organizations that provide excellent field placements and networking opportunities for our students. We are proud to work with so many talented people and sincerely thank them for continuing their commitment to our students.”
Highlights of the evening also included awards for William Dawber, who has been a faculty advisor for over 25 years, and three agency liaisons who have been pivotal to placing OCP students in strong internships: Alan Burt (Salvation Army), Kristin Gearin (Gosnold) and Virginia O’Brien (Cape Cod Hospital).
