Prof. Paris Shares Expertise at Education for Equity & Democracy Symposium

Professor Ruth Paris joins an array of experts at the Education for Equity & Democracy Symposium to be held June 21–23, 2021. Hosted by BU Wheelock School of Education and co-sponsored by BUSSW, the conference asks the question, “Is the ‘American experiment’ at risk of failure?” and explores the systemic inequities that threaten our democratic ideals and the changes that are needed.
The virtual symposium will host sessions each day from 4–7pm (ET) led by Boston University faculty and thought leaders from across disciplines, including education, medicine, social work, and science.
Professor Paris will share her expertise at the session focused on the Institute for Early Childhood Well-Being on June 21 at 6:00pm. An associate professor & chair of the Clinical Practice Department at BUSSW, Paris is is recognized for her expertise in trauma and infant and early childhood mental health. Her work is driven by her desire to develop effective and accessible interventions that are feasible in community settings, culturally responsive, benefit families with young children and make substantive sense in the field.
