The Wellbeing Project is a campus-wide initiative to support students’ health and wellness during their time at BU. As part of the initiative, the Project awards small grants (up to $2,000) to faculty, staff, and students to lead initiatives that promote student health and wellness. All proposals align with The Wellbeing Project goals to:

  • Raise awareness about BU student well-being
  • Promote campus resources for well-being
  • Demonstrate a shared campus responsibility for student health and well-being
  • Shift the campus culture to recognize well-being as a driver of student success

In 2020, BUSSW’s Off-Campus Program received a grant that supported a meditation series for all students featuring three different meditation practitioners from the School and community.  The 1 hour interactive zoom workshops focused on different meditation practice perspectives.

In spring 2022, the remainder of the grant funds are supporting a series called Wellness Wednesdays and Weekends. Based on a student survey, the organizers focused on the top 5 choices and developed a series of interactive workshops designed and led by professionals in the School and the Field to promote individual and collective wellness.  All workshops, ranging from de-stressing techniques and taking a “digital vacation,” to cooking, knitting, yoga and collage-making, will be held over Zoom, so that students from all BUSSW platforms (on-campus, off-campus and online) can attend.

If space allows, BUSSW employees will be invited to participate as well.

Registration and, in some cases, a small list of supplies is required.
