Fall Faculty Updates: Bronwyn Keefe, Research Assistant Professor & Associate Director of CADER

BronwynKeefeProfessor Bronwyn Keefe recently received a $250,000 grant from the Commonwealth Corporation to support health care providers’ understanding of Massachusetts’ health care law Chapter 224. This project will provide workforce development training to address the operational change Commonwealth Care Alliance (CCA) is undertaking in an effort to strengthen the capacity to provide team based, person-centered care, including patient engagement.

Keefe also received a $78,022 grant over 2 years from the Massachusetts Department of Public Health Suicide Prevention Program. This project is collaboration between the CADER and the Massachusetts Councils on Aging (COA). CADER will provide a competency-based Certificate in Mental Health and Aging to 65 Council on Aging staff in Massachusetts. The goal of this grant is to develop competencies in COA staff to effectively identify and respond to older adults with mental health and substance use concerns, increase mental wellness and resilience, and further the prevention of suicide.
