Professor Geron to be Active in Winter/Spring Conferences on Aging
Dr. Scott Miyake Geron, Director of the School’s Institute for Geriatric Social Work and Associate Professor for Social Welfare Policy and Research, is playing an active national and international role this winter and spring in a variety of programs with a focus on aging. These include:
* Invited participant to Hartford Foundation and AARP-funded conference, State of the Science: Nurses and Social Workers Supporting Family Caregivers, in Washington, DC (January 29-30, 2008).
* Panel presenter on workforce issues in aging and implications for social work at the New York City Chapter of the New York State Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers conference (March 19, 2008).
* Keynote speaker at a conference at the University of Hong Kong to discuss workforce improvement in geriatric social work (March 28, 2008).
* Keynote speaker at the Commonwealth Care Alliance 2nd Annual Senior Care Options Best Practice Clinical Conference, in Weston, Massachusetts (Regis College), May 2, 2008.
