Bill Monnie publishes Selma and its Aftermath: A Photographic Journey

selma and its aftermathBill Monnie attended STH from 1965-1967.
Selma and its Aftermath attempts to convey a sense of “ground-up” history by portraying through photography the actual people who were literally the “boots on the ground” activists. These individuals not only changed history but through their courage and actions changed their own personal histories by registering to vote and then exercising that right.

Enjoy the rare photographs of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Coretta King, Andrew Young, Dr. Ralph Abernathy, James Bevel, Bayard Rustin, etc. and appreciate the pictures of the numerous nameless people who had the courage to march at Selma and the courageous citizens during their mini-Selma march in Lunenburg County Virginia and their successful voter registration.
This book is truly about honoring the “ground-up” people who are pictured in this book.
