Juan Fuxman Bass is an Associate Professor of Biology at Boston University. He is an affiliated member of the Center for Cancer Systems Biology, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Bass is also an affiliated member of the Bioinformatics Program, the Genome Sciences Institute, and the Biological Design Center, PhD Program, BU-BMC Cancer Center, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology and Biochemistry Program, Boston University.

His work aims identify the transcriptional mechanisms that control different biological processes including immune responses, cell differentiation, and viral pathogenesis. His research tackles this overarching goal by integrating high-throughput screening approaches, bioinformatics analyses, and cell biology follow-up studies. Ultimately, the lessons learned from these studies will provide insights into disease mechanisms and provide a blueprint for the design of novel therapeutic approaches.

Areas of interest: immune regulation, gene regulatory networks, systems biology, disease mutations, inflammation, transcription factors
