This paper has been retracted.

Dong SF, Shi X, Wu X, Yi FS. J Inflamm Res. 2025;18:2521–2530.

We, the authors, Editors and Publisher of the Journal of Inflammation Research, have retracted the published article.

Since publication, the authors contacted the journal to notify the Editors that the experiments related to isolation and purification of pleural mesothelial cells from mice were conducted prior to obtaining ethical approval and requested the retraction of their article.

As this constitutes a violation of Dove Medical Press editorial policies and established ethical research standards, upon the authors’ disclosure of this matter to the Editor and Publisher, a joint decision has been made to retract this article.

We have been informed in our decision-making by our Editorial policies and the COPE guidelines. The authors agree with the retraction.

The retracted article will remain online to maintain the scholarly record, but it will be digitally watermarked on each page as ‘Retracted’.
