Library of African studies manuscripts of the former Director James Anthony Pritchett have been donated to Tuskegee University

We’re pleased to share that the library of African studies manuscripts of the late James Anthony Pritchett—past Director of the BU African Studies Center as well as former Director of the Michigan State University African Studies Center and President of the African Studies Association—has found a new home at Tuskegee University. With nearly 1,400 items, the Pritchett Collection is one of the largest HBCU-based African studies collections in the country. Later this week, James McCann (Chair, Department of History; Associate Director for Development, ASC), will travel to meet with colleagues at Tuskegee and from Michigan State University to explore further collaborative work and participate in the unveiling of the collection. Thank you to James McCann for helping to facilitate this donation. More information can be found here.
