Medicine, and a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Academy of Breastfeeding Medicine. After serving as the Pediatric Medical Director of the Mother Baby Unit at Boston Medical Center (BMC) for thirteen years, Dr. Philipp is now a member of the Newborn Medicine Hospitalist Group. She serves as a co-chair of the BMC Baby-Friendly Task Force. She was instrumental in leading to BMC’s designation as the first Baby-Friendly hospital in Massachusetts, and speaks and advocates for Baby-Friendly implementation nationally. She has created multiple breastfeeding education initiatives, most recently she founded the Lactation College, an educational initiative to support Black and other minority individuals to become lactation consultants.
