The top portion of the video shows how quickly a drop bounces off a relatively smooth surface: 12.4 milliseconds. The bottom portion of the video shows the drop bouncing off a ridged surface developed by BU mechanical engineer James Bird and his MIT [...]colleagues in 7.8 seconds, or 37 percent faster.
