It attracted all kinds of fancy residents, including Hollywood musical star Jeanette MacDonald and the Red Sox’s Ted Williams. But the hotel’s most famous resident was Nobel and Pulitzer-prize winning playwright Eugene O’Neil, author of such acclaimed plays as Anna Christie, The Iceman Cometh, A Moon for the Misbegotten and Long Day’s Journey Into Night.
