BU Today asked the Class of 2007 to think about the future and the past, explore their fears and expectations, and say good-bye to Boston University on camera. "Points of Departure," a series about graduating and moving on, will appear on BU Today [...]throughout Commencement weekend and the following week.
Jonathan Chin, a computer science and English major, and a cofounder of BU's slam poetry group Speak for Yourself, performs a poem he wrote about loving and leaving Boston.

Inspired by CAS professor and former U.S. poet laureate Robert Pinsky's Favorite Poem Project in 1997, BU Today's Favorite Poem reading welcomed students, staff, and faculty to read their favorite poems in an open mic format on the stage of BU [...]Central.
Co-sponsored by BU slam poetry group Speak For Yourself, the event also featured "cover" slam poetry, which was moderated by Adam Stone, the 1998 New England Forensic Interpreter of Poetry Champ, the 2000 Vermont Cover Slam Champion, and the 2000 National Dead Poets Slam winner.
