Tips for Student Teachers: Adapting to Online and Hybrid Teaching

How do you complete your student teaching hours during a pandemic? Two seniors in the Boston University Wheelock math education program have adapted to the challenges of teaching remotely and in the classroom while continuing to use their fundamental [...]teaching skills to inspire students. "Even in the virtual setting I'm still able to talk to the kids and form a connection with them," says Sarina Simon, who has been working as a student teacher throughout the semester. "I listen to their stories about practices, and different books that they're reading, and I think that that's the biggest thing that I take away from teaching...it's the connections I form with the students."
