Before she came to Boston University, Ava Ascher used to get nervous before big class presentations. She had stage fright — and wasn’t involved with any sort of performance extracurriculars in high school.
When Ascher (CAS ‘25, COM ‘25) [...]was a freshman, a friend told her they were auditioning for a BU on Broadway show. “You should just come with me,” they had suggested. Ascher agreed, thinking the experience may help her.
As she got involved with BU on Broadway, she learned just how much she loved performing for people and being involved with theatre production as her stage-fright faded.
BU on Broadway is an organization that performs two shows every semester — entirely student-run. One show is always held at the Tsai Performance Center, and the other is performed at the student theatre, which is more like a black-box theatre.
