The Alrighters are not your typical band. There are no guitars, and an unusually large percentage of their songs are about food. Described by singer Andrew Galante as “a ’50s R&B meets punk†band, the Alrighters feature saxophonist [...]Kim Kendicken, upright bassist Zeke Wheeler, and drummer Matt Schlaikjer.
When the lights go down and the sun rises, Galante, a senior production assistant at BU’s Creative Services, reverts from bombastic, dancing front man to a more subdued person working on bulletins in a cubicle. “It’s a great combo for me,†he says. “I can have a hobby and a job at the same time.â€
