Internships

CAS IN 299 Internship Class

CAS IN 299 is a two-credit, seminar-style course that carries the Teamwork/Collaboration BU Hub unit. Program participants are responsible for securing your own internship placement and for completing an application in the semester prior to taking CAS IN 299.

BUCH Undergraduate Internship in the Humanities

This summer internship program is open to all students majoring or minoring in a CAS Humanities program. One of the partner organizations is the Brattle Film Foundation in Cambridge, MA.

Museum of Fine Arts Boston Student Internship

The Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, invites college and university students to participate in the life of the Museum through the MFA Pathways internship program. Through semester-long undergraduate-level paid internships in departments across the institution, MFA Pathways interns gain hands-on training in specific museum roles, participate in professional development to learn about a range of museum careers and practices, and build professional networks on which to draw in advancing career aspirations.

Yawkey Nonprofit Internship Program

Boston University’s Yawkey Nonprofit Internship Program is a selective educational program designed for sophomores and juniors that provides a living allowance stipend to support participation in unpaid internships at nonprofit organizations.

Public Humanities Undergraduate Fellowship

The Public Humanities Undergraduate Fellows is a highly selective program that offers  stipend-supported summer internships that will help students create a bridge between their academic accomplishments and their future careers. Internships are in different organizations around Boston, in areas including technology and design, social services, digital storytelling, education, economic development, the arts, corporate leadership training, and international diplomacy.

Research

Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program 

UROP provides research stipends, on a competitive basis, each semester and summer.

Types of Funding Include:

  • Stipend Awards: paid directly to the student as taxable income
  • Supplies Awards: provided to the mentor’s department to cover project supplies
  • Travel Awards: reimbursement for research- or conference-related travel expenses
  • Humanities Scholars Awards: stipend and supplies for students conducting research in the humanities
  • Housing Supplement: $1000 toward summer housing, limited number of awards available for students with the greatest financial need
