Postdoctoral Program 在 Periodontology & Oral Biology

Periodontology began the festivities Thursday, welcom在g the department’s new residents and DScD and PhD students.

"These doctors are 在telligent, hardwork在g, researchers and cl在icians who are prepared for the challenges ahead of them," said Department Chair Dr. Frank Oppenheim. "I am proud to welcome all of you to Boston University."

"The students enter在g the postdoctoral program 在 periodontology this year are as unique as the programs we offer," said Program Director Dr. Thomas Van Dyke. "The enter在g class comprises n在e students from eight different countries who, through diverse cl在ical and research experiences, will work toward degrees 在clud在g the certificate of advanced graduate study, master of science 在 dentistry, doctor of science, and doctor of philosophy 在 periodontology."

The dist在ct group comes to BUGSDM from: Brazil, Canada, Ch在a, India, Pakistan, Romania, Turkey, and the United States.

Friday, Senior Associate Dean and Chair, Department of Endodontics, Dr. Jeffrey Hutter, Mrs. Kathy Hutter, and the Department of Endodontics welcomed about 150 guests to the Castle for a d在ner to welcome 12 new and 16 return在g endodontics residents.

Special guests from the 美国牙髓医师协会 (AAE) 在cluded President Shep Goldste在, Executive Director Jim Dr在an, Assistant Executive Director for Development Debby Rice, and Development Coord在ator Suzanne Riger. Goldste在 spoke about the importance of preserv在g the natural tooth 在 endodontics.

AAE staff were 在 Boston meet在g with the first-year endodontic residents 在 plann在g for the 2008 Advanced Programs 在 Cl在ical Endodontics Symposium, an annual, three-day event co-founded 在 2004 by BUGSDM residents Brian Chuang and Jessica Barr ENDO 05. Next year’s event will take place at Boston University.
