Student Group Spreads Thanksgiving Spirit

Thanksgiving may be a few weeks away, but Boston University Vietnamese Student Dental Association (BUVSDA) is already showing a giving spirit.
The group delivered its first bundle of clothing this week to Rosie’s Place, a shelter for poor and homeless women in Boston. BUVSDA has organized the drive for the past three years. This year, in just one week , BUGSDM students, staff, and faculty filled a box in the dental school lobby with warm clothes for the rapidly approaching winter season.
President Nam Phan says the group will probably make three more deliveries by the end of the collection period around Thanksgiving.
"It is important to get involved in the community and let people know our club is here to support them," say Phan, the group’s president.
He adds that the clothing drive is a good way to get to know community members, some of whom are current or future BUGSDM patients.
