Dean Hutter Presents His Vision for BUGSDM at Faculty & Staff Meeting

Faculty and staff members of the Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) gathered on December 16 to hear an inspirational address from Dean Jeffrey Hutter. This was the first faculty and staff meeting held since Dean Hutter was appointed and he approached it with high spirits and a vision to bring BUGSDM from good to great.

Dean Hutter began his address by thanking the BUGSDM community for their outpouring of support over the last few months and by describing his vision to the attendees.

"As your new Dean, I need your help," said Dean Hutter. "Each and every one of you will be instrumental to the successful realization of my vision for the Goldman School of Dental Medicine, which is to become the nation’s premier center of excellence in oral health education, research, and patient care in the next five years."

Dean Hutter went on to detail some of the challenges faced at BUGSDM and the initiatives that have been put in place to overcome these challenges and achieve his vision for the School.

He ended the evening by fielding questions from the audience and added, "I humbly request your commitment to and partnership in the transformation of the Goldman School of Dental Medicine. I hope that what I have shared with you has energized and inspired you to join with me in the work necessary to realize my vision for our School." Dean Hutter continued, " I know that change can at times be challenging but it is also exciting and in our case I believe, most necessary."
