BUGSDM Emphasizes Oral Health at Wellness Fair

Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine (BUGSDM) Oral Health Promotion Coordinator Kathy Lituri and student volunteer Min Lynn DMD 10 hosted a booth at the Boston University Be Well 2009 Wellness Fair on February 4 at the Fitness and Recreation Center.

The pair passed more than 100 toothbrushes to participants who stopped by to discuss oral health, teeth whitening, third molars, and dentistry as a profession among other topics. The Fair was open to the public and included information from a variety of agencies as well as tips about stress management, fitness, and avoiding the flu.

"The Wellness Fair was a great way for us to connect with Boston University undergraduate students, Fitness and Recreation Center members, and the general public" said Lituri. "Many attendees were mindful of their health but had not fully considered the impact of oral health on overall health. Both Min and I were able to share helpful strategies for improving and maintaining oral health."
