SNDA Supports South Boston Head Start

SNDA members Wyatt Traina DMD 14, Brittney Barrows DMD 14, Lindzy Goodman DMD 14, and Serena Jacob DMD 11, along with CHP Oral Health Promotion Director Kathy Lituri, brought interactive classroom education to the South Boston Head Start program on February 7. Also accompanying the SNDA members were two pre-dental students Michelle Preito and Sebastian Mendoza.
The group split into pairs to work with the children on age-appropriate oral health activities.
The volunteers were very excited to participate in the event explained Goodman, "As a DMD1, every moment outside of room G301 is bound to be a captivating experience. I enjoy taking advantage of opportunities that get me out of the classroom and into the community."
Traina added. “I wanted to participate because I think it is important for health professionals to set a good example and begin educating the public about their area of expertise. I also wanted to raise the profile of the SNDA, and positively impact children in the area who wouldn’t normally have access to such things.”
