Students Prepare for Success

American Student Dental Association (ASDA) hosted a half-day program for fourth-year DMD and second-year AS students titled, “Practice Management for Seniors” at the Dental School on November 14. The program addressed practice management aspects of dentistry and ethical aspects of dental practice. It also featured useful information on American Dental Association (ADA) resources that are available to ADA members.

Dr. David M Bonner presented the program. Dr. Bonner is a 1980 graduate of University of Texas Health Science Center Dental School, San Antonio and a 2009 graduate of the MBA program with a certified emphasis in health care management from Texas Tech University. He is also a practicing general dentist and has been active in organized dentistry at the local, state, and national levels.

ASDA First Delegate Dee Gulis DMD 12, with the assistance of the Office of Student Affairs, organized the program, which will be offered again to a second group of fourth-year DMD and second-year AS students on February 24, 2012.

Alumni Relations also attended the program and handed out GSDM hats to the students in attendance.
