Veterans Day Commemoration

The Boston University community honors the service of our members of the military through the following events:

Friday, November 11, 2011

Veterans Vigil – 6am – 1pm, Marsh Plaza

Cadets from BU’s three ROTC programs (Air Force, Army, and Navy) will come together to march constantly (in 15-minute shifts) from 6:00a until 1:00p on Marsh Plaza. A section of the ceremony on the 11th hour is a moment of silence to celebrate Armistice Day, which will take place during the marching. At 1:00p, there will be a closing ceremony, including a speaker and a trick rifle routine, performed by the Air Force ROTC’s Phantom Armed Drill Team. This tri-service event takes place in front of Boston University’s Marsh Chapel, is hosted by the Air Force ROTC’s Arnold Air Society, and supports POW/MIA awareness by giving cadets a chance to honor our veterans.

Men’s Hockey vs. Merrimack – 7pm, Agganis Arena
Boston University is proud to offer all active or retired military the opportunity to purchase a pair of discounted tickets for the Friday, November 11th BU vs. Merrimack men’s hockey game. All military personnel are invited to show their military ID at the Agganis Arena Ticket Office to save $9 off the full ticket price. Tickets are available at the Ticket Office now.
