Writer and psychiatrist, Patrick Autréaux has published poetry, short stories, and contemporary art criticism. His first auto-fictions deal with the experience of illness as an interior journey– Dans la vallée des larmes (2009), Soigner (2010), and Le Dedans des choses (2012, prix Amic de la l’Académie française), all published by Gallimard, and concluding with Se survivre (2013) published by Verdier. Les Irréguliers (2015, Gallimard) is his first novel. One of his texts, “Le Grand Vivant,” with Thierry Thieû Niang, will be performed this spring.
