2016 GRAP – CATS Project Qualitative Paper (01-Sabin)

Opportunity ID: 01-Sabin.

Project Title: CATS Project Qualitative Paper

Faculty Mentor: Lora Sabin

Description Statement:

Assistance with completing analysis of qualitative data and drafting a manuscript presenting the findings for

CATS project: /cghd/our-work/projects/china-adherence-through-technology-study-cats/

Scope of Work:

We collected qualitative data from HIV-positive patients who participated in the CATS trial. The trail improved adherence significantly, and the qualitative data provide a rich collection of data that can tell us why. We would like 1-2 students to help complete the analysis and draft a manuscript that presents the results.

Minimum Skills Desired:

Good writing is required. Experience writing a background section (with brief literature review) would be ideal. If the student has an interest in conducting some subanalyses in NVivo, that would be a plus, though this analysis may not prove necessary.

Time/Date Expectations:

Expected total time need is 40-60 hours. Dates are flexible, but starting as soon as possible in 2017 would be ideal, with 4-8 hours per week a good estimate for time need.

Location (if not BU): Flexible. Can be done anywhere, but monthly meetings with CATS team member(s) would be good.

Additional Material Requested:

CV and writing sample.

Number of Positions: One or Two, depending on demand (1-2)

Logistics & Support:

Work would be undertaken in Boston and would utilize data that has already been collected in the Novartis Evaluation baseline field work.
