You’re invited to join students at the Johns Hopkins University Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH) as they host a panel discussion on the health and human rights implications of the famine and war in Somalia in the global context of climate change and food insecurity.

The panel discussion will feature a host of experts that will highlight the food, social, and human rights crisis in Somalia and will be moderated by Dr. Robert S. Lawrence, Director of the Center for a Livable Future at Johns Hopkins. Panelists include:

The ReACH panel event is part of the annual “Faces of Africa” week from 9th to 13th April, 2012, the signature event of the African Public Health Network at JHSPH. This year’s theme is “Africa: Solidarity of Lives, Sustainability for the Future” chosen to capture the contemporary public health challenges in Africa and to raise awareness of the health, human rights and development concerns of the Continent, as well as displaying her rich cultural heritage through fashion, dance, fabrics and cuisines.
