Book launch celebration for
The Story of the Human Body: Evolution, Health, and Disease
with
Prof. Daniel Lieberman
Professor of Biological Anthropology and
Chair of The Department of Human Evolutionary Biology at Harvard

Prof. Lieberman will be giving his first public lecture to mark the publication of his new popular book, The Story of the Human Body (Pantheon Press).
His landmark popular science book gives us a lucid and engaging account of how the human body evolved over millions of years. He describes how the increasing disparity between the jumble of adaptations in our Stone Age bodies and the advancements in the modern world is ushering in a new paradox: greater longevity but increased chronic disease. Lieberman also elucidates how cultural evolution differs from biological evolution, and how our bodies were further transformed during the Agricultural and Industrial Revolutions.
After the talk, join us in the HMNH galleries for a reception and booksigning. Attendees will the opportunity to purchase advance copies of The Story of the Human Body. For this event only, copies will be available one week prior to the retail and online release date of October 1!
