Office of the Provost Announces 2014 Scholars Day Winners
Founded nearly two decades ago at Boston University, Scholars Day is a graduate student research symposium that focuses on science, engineering, arts, humanities, and social science research. The Institute recognized two outstanding individuals based on the specific criteria of research that advances the science of computing inspired by challenges in arts and sciences, engineering, and management disciplines.
The Hariri Award for Transformative Computational Science Research was given to Sarah Adel Bargal (CAS) for her project “A Study of Spatial Exploration Patterns of Children” advised by Stan Scarloff (CAS).
The Hariri Award for Innovative Computing Models, Algorithms, and Systems Award was given to Eran Simhon (ENG) for his project “Advance Reservation Games” advised by David Starobinski (ENG).
