Speaker: Pedro Lopes, Quantum Advocate
Talk Title: “QuEra – Neutral-Atom Quantum Computing: From Dark-Horse to Workhorse”
Abstract: Since 2019, QuEra has led the charge in advancing neutral-atom quantum computing from an emerging technology to a frontrunner in scalable quantum solutions. Together with academic and industry partners, we’ve driven this transformation by translating university tech into products in record time, and delivering cutting-edge hardware to researchers and users worldwide. This talk will highlight the unique advantages of neutral-atom systems and share key milestones that showcase QuEra’s rapid progress and impact on the quantum field. Additionally, we’ll discuss QuEra’s commitment to fostering a thriving quantum ecosystem through strategic collaborations with the public sector, industry, and academia, creating pathways for growth and opportunity across the field.
Bio: Pedro Lopes is QuEra Computing’s Quantum Advocate, responsible for developing both user and executive education programs and engaging with academic and public partners. With a PhD in theoretical physics, his research career – through Brazil, USA, and Canada – explored topics in quantum matter and topological physics. He is passionate about communicating quantum computing at all levels, developing partnerships, and helping users and researchers engage with this technology.
