Professor Nina Silber named 2014 Fortenbaugh Speaker
Professor Nina Silber has been named the 2014 Fortenbaugh Speaker by the Gettysburg College Civil War Institute. The 53rd Annual Robert Fortenbaugh Memorial Lecture will be held on November 19, at 7:30 p.m. in Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater. This year’s lecture: “Abraham Lincoln and the Political Culture of New Deal America.”
The Robert Fortenbaugh Memorial Lecture is presented each year on November 19, the anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. The goal of the lecture is to speak to the literate general public without abandoning solid scholarly moorings.
