The Innovation & Entrepreneurship master’s degree is offered through BU MET’s Department of Administrative Sciences, and includes three concentrations: Strategy, Sustainability, or Technology.

Graduate with Entrepreneurial Expertise

Metropolitan College’s Innovation & Entrepreneurship master’s degree will equip you with the ability to:

  • Communicate and present business opportunities effectively using financial analysis, investment pitches, market research, and data-driven assessments.
  • Apply innovative and analytical thinking to develop, evaluate, implement, and scale new business models, products, processes, or services.
  • Use data analytics and market analysis to assess demand, uncertainty, and feasibility for business innovations.
  • Demonstrate leadership by building and managing innovation teams using ethical principles and strategic decision-making.
  • Develop and execute industry-based projects or startups, emphasizing knowledge of innovation capital, networking, and digital, technological, human, social, and financial resource management.

Certificate-to-Degree Pathway

BU MET graduate certificate programs can serve as building blocks to a master’s degree. The Graduate Certificate in International Business Management, the Graduate Certificate in Global Marketing Management, the Graduate Certificate in Innovation & Entrepreneurship, and the Graduate Certificate in Supply Chain Management share specific courses with the MS in Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Students currently enrolled in a graduate certificate who are interested in transitioning into a master’s degree should contact their academic advisor to declare their interest in this pathway. A total of eight courses (32 credits) is required.

Students are required to finish four core courses and a concentration in Strategy, Sustainability, or Technology.

Master’s Thesis Option

(two courses/8 credits)

Students have the option to complete a master’s thesis in addition to the program’s eight-course (32-unit) requirement. The thesis must be completed within 12 months and is available to MSIE candidates who have completed at least five courses toward their degree and have a GPA of 3.7 or higher. Students are responsible for finding a thesis advisor and a principal reader within the department. The advisor must be a full-time faculty member; the principal reader may be a part-time faculty member with a doctorate. Permission by the department must be obtained.

BU MET programs offer the flexibility of part-time or full-time study, either on campus or online. Tuition, fees, and total program cost are determined by enrollment status. If you enroll in 1–2 courses (4–8 credits) in a semester, you are charged the part-time per-credit rate. If you enroll in 3–4 courses (12–16 credits) in a semester, you are charged the full-time semester rate.
