Muñoz Publishes on a Decade of Sustainable Development
Dr. Miquel Muñoz, Post-doctoral Fellow at the Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future, published an article in Vanguardia Dossier, a quarterly Spanish general public magazine. In this issue, devoted to the analysis of the decade since the 9/11 attacks, Dr. Muñoz wrote about the prospects and evolution of sustainable development.
Dr. Muñoz highlights the parallels between international negotiations in 2001 and in 2011, but notes that not much can be expected, in terms of action, from the international community over the next few years. Instead, action, if any, will happen at the regional and local levels. Nonetheless, international processes, particularly on climate change, should be kept alive because they will be needed when the international community is finally ready to act.
