IIB027 cover imageThe Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future has published the 27th paper in the Issues In Brief series. “Water Resources Development: Engineering the Future of Global Health” by Pardee 2012 Graduate Summer Fellow Diana R. Gergel presents the oft-neglected correlation between the development of dams and reservoirs, and the increased risk of infection with water-borne diseases in the surrounding communities. Gergel proposes several solutions through more nuanced engineering methods to combat these diseases.

An electronic version of the paper can be downloaded from the publications library on the Pardee web site. Hard copies are free and may be requested by sending an email to pardee@bu.edu.
