Pardee Center to Co-Sponsor International Studies Association Global South Travel Grant

The Frederick S. Pardee Center for the Study of the Longer-Range Future is proud to co-sponsor the International Studies Association’s (ISA) annual Global South Travel Grant. The grant, provided by the Global Health Studies Section of ISA, is also co-sponsored by Brill Publishers and the University of Maryland School of Public Policy.

The award will be given annually to individuals working at or enrolled in a graduate program at an institution located in the Global South who has had a paper accepted for ISA’s Annual Convention and requires further funds to attend. Applications for the 2023 award are due on October 18, 2022.

Joseph Harris, an Associate Professor of Sociology and a Pardee Center Faculty Research Fellow, was recently elected Vice Chair of the ISA Global Health Studies Section. As a Faculty Research Fellow, Prof. Harris is convening the monthly Global Health Politics Workshop (GHPW) series, which brings together leading social scientists from the disciplines of anthropology, political science, and sociology, along with practitioners in Boston and around the world, to advance understanding of health phenomena in a globally interconnected world.
