Nick Dragger, head of the Health and Development Department of the World Health Organization (WHO), visited the Pardee Center to hold an informal discussion session on future initiatives on global health diplomacy.

Global Health Diplomacy is an emerging area of interest for international policy-makers as globalization and global changes makes disease more mobile and highlights the need for greater global collaborations on issues related to health policy. A small meeting of experts, convened by the Pardee Center at the request of Nick Dragger from the WHO, discussed various dimensions of this emerging issues and the priority actions that need to be taken.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Pardee Center, the department of International Relations, the School of Public Health and the Global Health Initiative all at Boston Univeristy, and by experts from the Indiana Univeirsty School of Law, the Flecther School of Law and Diplomacy, the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School, and the Consensus Building Institute.
