Cara Ellis McCarthy
Executive Director
As Executive Director, Cara Ellis McCarthy develops, manages, and executes strategies and programs to advance the mission of the Center, including management of financial operations, pre-and post-award grant activity; human resource functions and staff supervision; oversight of communications and event planning; Photonics Center building resources and operations; technical and lab management team, and the safe and efficient operation of the Center’s labs and shared resources; and the Business Innovation Center.
She also serves as the Administrative Director for the NSF Engineering Research Center in Cellular Metamaterials (CELL-MET), and the DOD/ARL Center for Semiconductor Materials and Devices Modeling.
