Limited Submission Funding Opportunity: Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr Foundation Grants

OBJECTIVES:
The Edward Mallinckrodt, Jr. Foundation is a private foundation that funds basic biomedical research in St Louis and throughout the United States. The mission of the Foundation is to support early stage investigators engaged in biomedical research that has the potential to significantly advance the understanding, diagnosis, or treatment of disease.
Mallinckrodt Grants are competitively provided to investigators based on their proposals, selected from applicants on an annual basis. These awards are usually $60,000 per year for three years, provided an annual progress report is submitted and approved.
FUNDING INFORMATION: $60,000, no indirect costs
ELIGIBILITY RESTRICTIONS:
Each institution is allowed to submit one proposal. Applicants should be in the first to fourth year of their tenure track faculty position and not have current R01 funding. Grants are usually $60,000 and funding commences on October 1. No indirect costs are allowed. Salary is acceptable.
INTERNAL SELECTION PROCESS:
Interested investigators should submit the following materials via InfoReady Review by DATE: 5/24/19
- Questions outlined in InfoReady Review application;
- A brief (one-page) statement by the candidate describing his or her significant scientific work and immediate research plans;
- A brief budget overview of the proposed project
- Up-to-date CV.
A faculty committee drawn from both campuses will review internal proposals and select nominees. Foundation Relations will work with the nominees to develop and submit the institutional nomination letter and applicant materials by 8/1/19.
