BU Today: Problem Parenting Behind Asian Women’s Suicide Rate

Professor Hyeouk Hahm discusses “disempowering” parenting and serves as a mentor for Yujin Kim’s (CAS’17) project for the Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP). According to this BU Today article, the research project “seeks explanations for the high rate of self-destruction among young Asian American females in the United States” and “to explore “what kind of social and economic reasons” undergird that parenting.”
