Anne Dolan (SSW’88), Originator of Student Emergency Fund, Joins Dean’s Advisory Board

BU School of Social Work welcomes alumna Anne Dolan (SSW’88) to the Dean’s Advisory Board, effective spring 2021.

A proactive member of the BUSSW community, Dolan’s previous contributions include establishing the School’s Student Emergency Fund in 2019 which has allowed BUSSW to offer critical support to students facing financial hardships. A vital asset to our School and our students for years to come, the fund has held special importance during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dolan’s continued involvement at BUSSW stems from her deep commitment to the School and its mission. “In this particular time in history,” Dolan says, “there is a tremendous need for social workers who have excellent clinical skills, a deep awareness of the impact of racial injustices, and the ability to bridge divides with their communication skills. BUSSW answers these needs. I feel it is essential that we support the students who face challenges on their path to becoming future leaders.”
Dolan lives in Portland, Oregon and currently leads a consulting practice. Previously, she worked in private practice and worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital as a clinical social worker and consultant. Dolan specializes in individual and couple psychotherapy with a focus on infertility, pregnancy loss, marital stress, and medical and mental health challenges.
Dolan is certified as a licensed clinical social worker, a diplomate in clinical social work, and a qualified clinical social worker. She is a recipient of the Partners Health Care Systems’ Partners Award in recognition of outstanding performance and commitment to excellence.
