Prof. Yoonsook Ha will speak at a webinar hosted by the Institute For Research on Poverty that explores how high-quality early care and education (ECE) reduces the burden on parents, but is often inaccessible for low-income families. Child care can be expensive and difficult to maintain, and without additional support many low-income families struggle to provide proper ECE. The webinar will examine the current situation of ECE provisions, what legislations and policies are offered, and what future measures can be taken to improve ECE. Prof. Ha will focus on the effectiveness of child care subsidies, the difficulties in obtaining those subsidies, and what other policies could be more helpful for parents.
