Kris Berg (SSW’27), an MSW student at BU School of Social Work, has won the Graduate Outstanding Service Award as one of BU’s Student Employees of the Year. Award winners are chosen by a panel of faculty and staff at BU.

Berg serves at the BU College of Arts and Sciences as a consultant for the undergraduate writing center and led workshops for other tutors to help them better understand and serve the needs of students with disabilities. The awardee has also worked with staff at the Agganis Arena to open a sensory room for event attendees, providing support to those experiencing sensory overload. “I believe it’s essential for University leaders and stakeholders to actively and continuously work to improve the climate for neurodivergent and disabled BU community members,” said Berg in an interview with BU Today.
