BUSSW Welcomes 170 New Students

The Boston University School of Social Work welcomed 170 new full- and part-time students on September 2 with a full-day orientation program. These students join 191 continuing students at the School.

The comprehensive orientation program featured welcoming remarks by Dean Gail Steketee; a presentation on "Urban Social Work Practice: Clinical and Macro Perspectives," by Professors Melvin Delgado and Luz Lopez; a curriculum overview by Ruth Freedman, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs; a faculty panel presentation on ethical dilemmas; an informal poster session with academic programs, student groups, and more; a student panel presentation; diversity book discussions; a technology workshop; and campus tours.
