CADER Joins Leading Eldercare Alliance to Prevent Workforce Crisis in Aging America

BUSSW’s Center for Aging & Disability Education & Research (CADER), known for bringing online training and certificate programs to over 20,000 eldercare professionals since 2002, will join the Eldercare Workforce Alliance, created in response to a report by The Institute of Medicine predicting an impending workforce crisis spurred by America’s aging population, which will nearly double from 2005 to 2030.

As national acclaim and implementation of CADER’s workforce training grows, BU School of Social Work will become the first academic organization to join the Alliance, a coalition of 31 national and federal organizations dedicated to strengthening eldercare services in the United States.

Other national leaders in social services belonging to the Alliance include the National Association of Social Workers, the Council on Social Work Education, AARP, and the American Psychological Association.
