Friday, December 21, 2018

Dean/Professor Emerita Steketee, who recently completed her term as President of the Association of Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT), was honored with a Festschrift (volume of writings presented as a tribute or memorial to a scholar) to celebrate her career.

Six of Steketee’s junior and senior colleagues presented papers about their current work, expanding on the research they did as PhD students with Steketee. The papers are intended for publication together in the Journal of Obsessive Compulsive and Related Disorders.

“I loved seeing papers presented that expanded on my own work and were also entirely new to me.  It’s an academic’s dream!” said Steketee.

The PhD students included Dr. Abby Ross, assistant professor, Fordham University; Dr. Christiana Bratiotis, assistant professor, University of British Columbia; and Dr. Elizabeth Rohan, health scientist at the Centers for Disease Control, Division of Cancer Prevention and Control. The event was organized by Dr. Bratiotis along with Drs. Jordana Muroff, associate professor, BU School of Social Work; Randy Frost, professor, Smith College; and Kiara Timpano, associate professor, University of Miami.
