Dr. Phillipe Copeland Promoted to Clinical Associate Professor

Boston University School of Social Work is pleased to announce that Dr. Phillipe Copeland has been promoted to clinical associate professor. This advancement is indicative of Copleand’s outstanding skills in teaching and research, which is inspiring a new generation of social workers.
As an expert on racial justice, Copeland’s research has addressed the Black Lives Matter movement, abolishing mass incarceration, and Black, Indigenous, and People of Color’s (BIPOC) mental health. His unique expertise has been featured in media articles around the world, including popular publications such as The Hill and NBC Boston. He is also an active voice for and moderator of antiracist events, panels, and symposiums advocating for diversity, equity, and inclusion.
In addition to his position as clinical associate professor, Copeland is faculty lead for education and training for the Boston University’s Center for Antiracist Research., He was also one of BU Initiative on Cities’ 2022 Public Impact Scholars, where he worked with a cohort designed to influence positive societal change in local and state policy.
