Fall Faculty Updates: Phillipe Copeland, Clinical Assistant Professor
Professor Copeland was appointed for a 3-year term to the CSWE Council on Racial, Ethnic and Cultural Diversity beginning July 1, 2014. This Council functions within the Commission for Diversity and Social and Economic Justice. It initiates activities and programs related to ethnic minority groups in SW education and promotes research into issues relevant to minority educators, students, and alumni. It also provides recommended policies, consultation, and advice for the Board of Directors and CSWE staff.
On November 7, Professor Copeland presented “Social Work as Resistance: A Black Power Case Study” at Simmons College Graduate School of Social Work.
