Upcoming BUSSW Faculty & Student Presentations at SSWR
This week, Boston University School of Social Work faculty and students will present at the Society for Social Work and Research (SSWR) Thirteenth Annual Conference in New Orleans, LA. The SSWR annual conference theme is “Research that promotes sustainability and (re)builds strengths.” Hosted at the Marriott Hotel, over 500 SSWR presenters are anticipated.

Dean Gail Steketee, an invited Symposium Speaker, presents “Studying hoarding and mental health: Trying to keep up with a freight train” on Saturday, Jan. 17 from 2 PM- 3:30 PM.
Professor Renee Spencer, and doctoral students Terrence Lewis and Antoinette Basualdo-Delmonico present “Mentoring across differences: How race and class shape the youth mentoring process,” on Friday, Jan. 16 at 10:30 AM.
Professor Ruth Paris and MSW/MPH student Rendelle Bolton present both the “Impact of maternal depression on mother-infant interactions: A qualitative study” on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 8:30 AM and “Improvements in postpartum depression and mother-infant interactions: Findings from a pilot study of a home-based therapeutic intervention,” on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4 PM.
Professor Kate Cooney presents “Strategic management of social purpose businesses: Navigating the intersection of mission and market,” on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 3:30 PM.
IGSW’s Bronwyn Keefe and Scott Geron present, “Social work in primary care: Results from an evidence-based intervention study for older adults,” on Saturday, Jan. 17 at 4:30 PM.
BUSSW faculty, alumni and friends are invited to stop by either the BUSSW exhibit booth (#41), or the BUSSW reception welcoming Dean Steketee as new BUSSW Dean, and celebrating 90 years of social work education at Boston University. The reception is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 16, from 7 PM-8:30 PM at the New Orleans Marriott Hotel, Balcony L, 4th Floor.
