Earle McAdams Giesey

Earle McAdams Giesey’s classmates remembered him as a pious man. So pious, in fact, that they felt they had to be on their best behavior when he was around.

A would-be reformer is he,
And real good he’d have us all be:—
“In frolic avoid too much glee;
More time should you spend on bended knee.”

He graduated from Allegheny College in 1908, where he pledged Phi Delta Omega. While there, he was a member of the Y.M.C.A. Cabinet, the Glee club, and the varsity basketball team.
